  • Do you love the 80s?

So, I am doing some research on toys in the 80s for a project we are doing sponsored by Hasbro Toys.  We are trying to interview people who either grew up in the 80s or had kids and bought toys in the 80s.

So if you fall into either category, tell me about it!

    Interview Questions for 80s Kids

    1.    First name, Birth Year, Parents occupation in 80s, Location, Household size as child

    2.      Favorite Toy? Why?

    3.      What do you remember from the 80’s? (political, cultural, trends, home life)

    4.      What did you do for fun? Where? With who? (indoor, outdoor, the mall)

    5.      Favorite from the 80’s: TV show, band, celebrity icon?

    6.      What did you play at school?

    Interview Questions for Adults/Purchasers

    1.      First Name, Birth Year, Occupation of self and/or spouse in the 80s, Location, Household size in the 80s?

    2.      What did you look for when purchasing toys? (safety issues, material, size, gender)

    3.      Where did you purchase toys?

    4.      What price range would you look for?

    5.      How often did you purchase toys?

    6.      Where did your kids play and with who?

    7.      What did your kids play/ play with?

    8.      What do you remember from the 80’s? (political, cultural, trends, home life)

Once we get all this info, we'll be examining similarities and differences between the 80s and now.  After analysis, we'll develop 6 concepts for new toys based on the 80s.

    Threadless!

I submitted two shirt designs for critiques in Threadless.

    Check them out here:

    http://www.threadless.com/critique/4867/even_monsters_heart_you

There's 'Even Monsters Heart You' and 'Scuba Gear For Kittens'.

I still need to refine them before they go into the official running, but hopefully when they do you'll vote for them!

The monster one was inspired by the light fixtures I'm working on. I saw the drywall clips as arms, the ballasts/transformers as a mouth, and the screws as eyes. A very cute monster! Then I drew it on Stephanie's facebook graffiti wall, and from there, photoshop!

I'm thinking I'll change it and put him in a fishbowl.

  •  Through a slight error of mathematical calculation, I have been working 9 hours a day, five days a week for a month totally unaware. No wonder my days seemed so long...

    ok, bye.

  • intrigue! danger! chess! 3 copy

This is what I spent my evening doing.

    The image, not the game.

I stole the graphic from a 1950s comic book.

Photoshoped it and attacked it with a million filters.

    ok, bye.

who am i?

  • I'm a girl for starters. I love art, chocolate, books, and music, but not neccessarily in that order. I do almost no physically demanding activities, if I can help it. The only sport-ish thing I engage in is bowling. But that doesn't really count.

Though it isn't exactly a book, Speed-the-plow was a pretty decent play. My favorite book of all time is The Count of Monte Cristo.
